Whether arriving from the direction of Massigneux-de-Rives, from Yenne or from the road leading out of the tunnel du Chat, it is hard not to be impressed by the amazing formation of this site, with its steep limestone slopes plunging from the peaks of Charvaz and Mont Turioz
Starting from the St-Romain Chapel, the harmonious curve of this natural amphitheater reveals a unique viticultural landscape, whose garden-like appearance may inspire many pilgrims to stay in the nearby guesthouses that have dotted this site since the distant origins of the St. James Way (Camino de Santiago).
This picturesque area is home to villages and hamlets strung out like a necklace between the plain and the mountains.
