Walking tour at the Lavours swamp

After visiting the Maison du marais de Lavours, take the time to stroll along the circuit on stilts in the heart of the Lavours marsh nature reserve.

Walk accessible to people with reduced mobility with the help of an accompanying person. Dogs are not allowed.
The nature reserve was created in 1984 to protect this marsh, which is rich in remarkable flora and fauna.
Visitors can learn about the riches of the nature reserve thanks to the educational panels placed along the walk and inside the observatories. Wheelchair users have access to the observatories located along the circuit.
Information in Braille also allows visually impaired people to learn about the flora and fauna of the Lavours marsh.
The Maison du Marais, located in the hamlet of Aignoz at the start of the boardwalk trail, is a museum space that explains life in the marsh.
Every year, from April to October, it offers a varied programme of activities designed to introduce the general public to the flora and fauna and heritage of the marsh (history, crafts, etc.).
To access the marsh, visitors must use the free car park at the entrance to the hamlet of Aignoz.
It is important to respect the nature reserve's regulations: dogs are not allowed and picking is prohibited.
This site is one of the iconic sites that have been awarded the ‘Espaces Naturels Sensibles’ (Sensitive Natural Areas) label by the department of Ain.
These ENS-certified sites are managed in such a way as to preserve the biodiversity they host and are developed for public access (with some exceptions due to the fragility of the environments).
